28 June: 22 club members made the trip to the Royal Hospital Chelsea. The Pensioners had visited us in July 2021 to help us to celebrate our 30 anniversary and the reopening of our clubhouse following its refurbishment.
We were there this time at their invitation to play the return match and have a tour of the Hospital.
It was a fantastic experience. Pensioner Alan Gibb gave us a great tour of the Hospital and grounds. We enjoyed a game against the pensioners and they treated us to a meal in the Great Hall.
We relaxed in their "pub" where we presented them with a copy of the photograph from their visit to us in 2021, which hangs in our club.
It was a fantastic and unique day out which I would recommend should you get the chance (tours are available).
