Roll-ups and coaching - 2019
Sunday morning - 11:00 start – PROMPT
Practice your skills with our 4/3/2/1 game. Each player has four bowls and is playing
for themselves in a group of 3 or 4 players. The closest to the jack (which is not
centered) at the finish of each end gets 4 points, 2nd 3 points and so on. The skill is
not only to draw your shot, but to take off your opponent/s. Great skills learnt!
Monday afternoon - organised by Vince Hopkinson Please arrive at 1.45pm for 2.00pm start. This roll up is a season long competition playing for the Whicher Cup. New rules apply from 2019 season.
Thursday Evening is Club night - organised by Tricia Squibb (01483 300404) and Colin Colbrook (01483 856460). Please note: In order to accommodate late arrivals we have made a change. One Group of players will start their game at 5:30 prompt and another Group of players will start their game at 6:15. The second game will be a full 18 ends, weather permitting.
Also on Thursday evenings one rink will be used by U3A members. Please give these new players every encouragement.
Friday afternoon - 1:45 for 2:00 start organised by Brian and Rose Conway
(577139). Playing for the Eunice Williams Trophy. A full match will always be played
(weather permitting) and this will finish at around 5:00 p.m. The Trophy will be
awarded on the basis of points won throughout the Season. See notice board for selection changes.
Games/Competitions not shown in this year book: We take part in National and County knockout competitions, i.e. Top Club (separately for mens and ladies), Top Fours, Two Fours, Harry Mills Triples Knockout and Tony Alcock Trophy. We also encourage members to take part in Nationals and Surrey and West Surrey bowling associations' competitions. For details of these matches check the Notice Boards and/or speak to the Mens orLadies' Captains.
Coaching - We have six registered coaches who are willing to help new players or those wishing to improve their game. At least one coach will be available for coaching on Thursday evenings or Sunday mornings. For further information please contact:
