Listed below are our club's entries for external competitions. Those comprise national, Surrey and West Surrey competitions. NATIONAL

Womens Champion of Champions

Glenda Mogg v Pearl Warner at Castle Green by 27 May

Over 60s Singles - Alan Mogg lost to Keith Dunstone of Mytchett 20-21


Over 60s Pairs - Monday 19 May - Alan Mogg and John Kershaw lost in R1 away Tongham.


Mens Foundation Pairs

26 May Alan Mogg & Tom Tung were knocked out in the preliminary round at Burpham by Keith Fawcett and partner of Tongham

Simon Fillary & Mike King beat a pair from Tongham on 9 June. They overcame another Tongham pair on 23 June to progress to the Surrey West Area final which they will play at Egham on 7 July.


Womens Foundation Pairs

Burpham has a good chance in this comp as 3 of the 5 pairs entered are from Burpham! The other two entries are both from Horsell.

Catherine Hughes & Pauline Covelle lost their prelim round match against Ade Hughes & Allison Thrumble on 9 June. Ade and Alison will now play Glenda Mogg & Liz Hyland in Area semi finals on 23 June. so we are assured of one of our pairs in the Final, and they will meet a pair from Horsell.


Mens Club 2 Fours

Sunday 18 May. In our first National competition of the season we lost at home to Cranleigh

We won just one of the five events (pairs). So well done Andy and Barry but on to next year.

Tony Allcock Team competition

(Over 60s mixed two fours) Alan Mogg, Glenda Mogg, Peter Challens Barry Macbeth, Allison Thrumble, Terry Keeley Round 1, 27 May v Camberley at home. Unfortunately we suffered a rather heavy defeat 19- 37 aggregate.


SURREY MEN

Our own Simon Fillary was again selected for the Area 4 team when they won the Walter Cross trophy for the third year running. They won their first match against Area 2 104-88, then in a very close final they overcame Area 1, 101-94. Area 1 put up a very good fight against the reigning champions; with one end left to play they still had a chance to win, but it was too much for them. In their first match they beat Area 3, 92-86.Area 2 beat Area 3 by 82-74 for thr third place playoff.


Other familiar faces include David Ewins of Merrow and Rodney Morrison from Knaphill.


Singles (Unbadged)

R1 21 May

Alan Mogg progressed past Gary Kelly of Woodbridge Hill) at home. He then lost to Brian Binfield at Farnham in R2 on 28 May.

Simon Fillary beat Rob Boxall (Godalming) at home 21-15. He then beat Graham Maul of Woodbridge Hill at home 21-12 in R2. In R3 he lost narrowly (21-18) to Brian Binfield at home.

Alan Hughes lost out to Alfie Simmons at Stoke Park in R1


Singles

22 May - Simon Fillary beat Neil Woodhatch of Woodbridge Hill 21-8 but lost to David Andrews of Cranleigh in the next round.


Pairs On 12 June Simon Fillary and Andy Jones beat Robert Edwards and Terry Osgood at Albury to progress to R2 where they will meet Steve Morris and Trevor Reigate in the R3 semi-finals.   On the same evening at Burpham Mike King and Rex Thorpe went down fighting against David Ewins and John Wills of Merrow.

19 June - Simon and Andy comfortably beat Steve Morris and Trevor Reigate of Merrow to progress to R4 where they will meet Will Matthews and Paul Coleman at Woodbridge Hill on 26 June.

10 June R1:

Simon's team beat a Haslemere trio at home on 8 June.

Geoff's triple lost to Stoke Park away on 10 June

John' team won their tie away to Tongham. In the next round they were drawn against Simon's team whom the beat 21-11. That result made them the only surviving Burpham triple entry and put them into the R4 Q finals.

Keith's trio won away to Cranleigh but lost in R3 against Knaphill.

Senior Fours - Alan Mogg, Colin Colbrook, Andy Jones, Peter Challens

12 May: beat Godalming away 16-15.

15 May: lost at home to Woodbridge Hill


Top 4 - 2 teams

Blue team; Simon Fillary Andy Jones Alan Mogg Peter Challens

beat Woodbridge Hill 21-10 on 1 June. They beat Mayford Hall in the next round on 9 June (20-12).

Green team; After going into an early lead the green team of John Kershaw Barry Macbeth Geoff Sheldon Terry Keeley went down 23-17 on 2 June away to Mytchett.



SURREY LADIES


Champion of Champions - R2 Glenda Mogg lost to Kat Hornbrook, Cranleigh on 26 May at home.

Singles

After beating Janet Tyrherleigh in R1 Glenda Mogg lost to Helen Newell at Woking Park in R2 on 9 June

Pairs

In their R2 tie Glenda Mogg and Karen King lost out to Caroline Lythgoe and Pauline Gramson at Camberley.

In their R2 match Adrienne Hughes' team of Margaret Liley and Allison Thrumble lost to Helen Newell and Marilyn Murphy at Woking Park.

In the same round Pauline Covelle and Liz Hyland lost to Glenda Dexter and Pauline Ross at Knaphill.

Triples

Catherine Hughes, Pauline Covelle and Liz Hyland lost their R1 match to Mytchett on 5 June.

Glenda Mogg, Karen King and Cheryl Messenger lost their first match to Cranleigh on 19 June.

Fours

Allison Thrumble, Catherine Hughes, Cheryl Messenger, Pauline Covelle beat a Knaphill team at home 4 June 23-13. On 11 June they beat another Knaphill team 18 -16 to progress to R3. There they met a Milford Team led by Zoe Hollins but lost by 17-13.

Glenda Mogg, Linda Macbeth, Karen King, Liz Hyland were beaten by a Knaphill foursome on 11 June.

Unbadged Singles

On 10 June Glenda Mogg lost her R1 tie against Daniela Cousins at Mayford Hall.

Officers Cup

Catherine Hughes plays her first match against Sarah Hamer of Mytchett on 29 June.

Top Four

R2 Glenda Mogg, Liz Hyland, Allison Thrumble, Karen King play Windlesham at home by 29 June
